Homestay

Geraldine High School arranges for suitable homestay families for our international students. Ensuring students stay with a caring and supportive family is an important part of our programme. The school has agreed to adhere to the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students published by the NZ Minister of Education. Copies of the code are available on request from the school or from the NZ Ministry of Education website.

Orientation

International students receive a thorough orientation to our school before beginning their studies here. During orientation we will assist you to fit in with our school. Here is some of the information you can expect to receive:
• School Uniform
• Suitable ESOL class
• Suitable subject classes
• Correct stationery and gear
• Guide around the school
• Information about our town
