BYOD

Empowering learning through personal devices

Technology is not only a part of life, but also a tool to assist our students to become life-long learners. We encourage our students to gain the skills to be flexible with a range of technology and take pride in seeing many of them now actively involved in the community assisting in events or assisting others in engaging with technology.

Many students enrol at Geraldine High School having been introduced to the BYOD process from their previous schools. For others, it will be a new aspect to their education and it can be a financially challenging aspect to families.

Library

Your gateway to knowledge, collaboration and creativity

The School values the Library as a safe and inclusive environment for all our students.

The Library is open Monday to Friday and is staffed by a full-time librarian. Our Library is supported by trained student librarians before school and during both break-times. Students are encouraged to volunteer so that they can gain experience in customer service and all aspects of operating and utilising a library.

Learning Support

Personalised academic & social support for every learner

The Learning Support Department, known as Te Whare Ako, encourages students to reach their full potential academically and socially, and to gain independence and confidence to enable them to function in the community.

A new Learning Centre caters for the needs of the varying degrees of disabilities. This contains specialist equipment and materials to enhance learning programmes.

NCEA Information

Student Assessment Information

This is very important information for students in Year 11, 12, 13 who are working towards qualifications on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF).

The NZQF includes NCEA qualifications but also covers other NZQA qualifications that GHS students may be working towards.
