Our Culture

Te Kura Tuarua o Raukapuka

At Geraldine High School, our culture is grounded in a deep commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and empowering environment. Guided by our motto, Labor Omnia Vincit (Work Conquers All), we inspire and support our ākonga (students) to become lifelong learners and active contributors to their whānau and communities.

Our Vision

Growing Stronger, Together.

This vision underpins all that we do, encouraging every learner to discover their potential and contribute meaningfully to the world around them.

Our Purpose

We aim to provide relevant and engaging learning for all ākonga, with a strong emphasis on relationships and life skills. Our approach nurtures students to be capable, confident and connected well prepared to participate fully in society.

Honouring Our Heritage

Our kura is located in a place rich in Māori history. Known traditionally as Rau Kāpuka (a hundred Kāpuka trees), the Geraldine area was once forested and rich in food sources, used by local iwi as a vital gathering place. A traditional saying, Te whenua i haroa e Te Kāhu – “The land surrounded by bush and swamp, watched over by the hawk,” reflects this ancestral connection to the land.

Our Values

Our values are woven through the fabric of school life and shape the way we learn, relate, and grow together:
